CARMADA 2025 @ GFA

This year’s CARMADA at the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts brought the perfect mix of creativity, color, and community to Julian B. Lane Park. Held March 1–2, the event showcased an incredible collection of art cars—rolling canvases that transformed the parking lot into a driveable gallery. From wild paint jobs to sculptural add-ons, each vehicle reflected the bold imagination of its creator, making every lap around the lot an adventure in itself.

A consistent favorite of the attendees is the Nomad Art Bus, parked right alongside the action. With its hands-on art activities and bright, welcoming design, it drew in festivalgoers of all ages. The whole section buzzed with movement and inspiration, creating a space where art wasn’t just displayed—it was interacted with and created in real time.

Adding to the atmosphere were the teenage bands rocking out on the nearby stage. Their energy was infectious, turning casual onlookers into enthusiastic listeners and giving the entire zone a block party vibe. It was a great reminder of how art and music—especially when made by the next generation—can electrify a space.

Having photographed six CARMADA events now (and four of them at GFA), it’s always a joy to capture this unique collision of mobile art, community spirit, and youthful energy. This year might’ve been the most fun yet.
