Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead – for Jobsite Theater

I recently had the pleasure of photographing Jobsite Theater’s production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead at the Straz Center. This show is such a wild ride! Hilarious and tragic all at once, and Jobsite’s cast brought it to life with a wonderful amount of energy and depth.

Giles Davies, Katherine Yacko, and Nicole Jeannine Smith were all incredible on stage, balancing sharp wit with genuine emotion. Watching them bounce between the absurd and the profound made it one of those productions you don’t forget.

Visually, this play gave me so much to work with. The staging was inventive without ever distracting from the story, and the lighting design added real atmosphere, shifting seamlessly between comedy, existential dread, and back again. Every time I pressed the shutter, there was a new moment worth capturing.

For me, photographing live theater is always about more than just documentation—it’s about capturing the spirit of the performance so others can feel what it was like to be in the audience. Jobsite’s productions make that easy. They take risks, push boundaries, and bring out performances that feel raw and immediate.

I always love working with Jobsite Theater. They consistently take on bold, inventive shows, and being able to capture their work through photography is both a challenge and a joy. This one in particular was a treat to document.
